11:31 am - "Ahh, Bingo! How fun! But, I digress. Where were we?" Col. Hans Landa
It's been a pretty uneventful weekend, all things considered, but it does make a nice change.
I did some babysitting a few days ago and when I arrived the children had just started watching The Road to El Dorado, so they became and officially awesome family already. I sat down with them and we all got completely caught up in singing along with Elton John; so much so that I didn't actually hear their parents leave! My inner child now feels content.
I also finished the catsitting and went to collect my money from the owners on Friday. Turns out that the guy is a clinical psychologist which means I can beg information and work experience from him when necessary. He's been added to my list of useful contacts which now comprises of.........er.........one..........
My Dad has been in Hanover all week at som exhibition he's involved in or is visiting. I'm not too sure, but he got back this evenng and proceeded to speak at length about all he saw and did. I have to go back to Germany sometime, especially Berlin. Some say the country isn't spectacular and there are far more worthwhile places in Europe to see, but for some undefinable reason I loved where I visited.
And speaking of Germany, though in a rather different context, I finally got round to seeing Inglorious Basterds yesterday. I didn't already know it was a Tarantino film, I certainly wouldn't have guessed because it lacked that instantly memorable, witty dialogue which is quintessentionally his. However, I did enjoy the film a great deal and would see it again without complaint. The plot was perhaps a little slow moving to start with and I thought some scenes were unnecessary, but Brad Pitt was exceptionally good. I don't know why, but I've never considered him a particularly good actor, so I stand corrected.
